Our projects

About

We run a number of different projects aimed at supporting members of our Broxtowe communities to alleviate hunger and end isolation.

Find out more about what we do below!

FOOD PARCELS

We run a self-referral foodbank, which means you don't need to be referred by another organisation to get a food parcel from us. All you need to do is live in the borough of Broxtowe and fill in our simple sign up form

We provide a walk in service from 10-12:30 on Thursday mornings, where you can choose what goes into your parcel, as well as pre-packed parcel collections on Wednesday afternoons. We also deliver to those who can't collect on Wednesday evening (NG9) and Friday lunchtime (NG16).

Our parcels contain a selection of both fresh and ambient food items, as well as cleaning, hygiene and baby bank items on request.

Saturday stalls

As well as food parcels, we also run a Saturday surplus stall. These are stocked with any leftover fruit, veg, bakery or other items that aren't suitable for our food parcels.

These stalls are open to all as the items we are giving away would otherwise go to waste (although we do compost whatever we can!)

Everything on our Saturday stalls is completely free but donations are very welcome if you are able to contribute!

community meals

We run community meal and activity sessions every Friday from 17:15 to 18:30. These are completely free and everyone is welcome!

Every week there is a different hot meal, which could be pasta, pie, or make-your-own-pizza, alongside an activity. We are always happy to welcome new guests or volunteers - and both are equally welcome to get stuck in!

For details of the latest session, keep an eye on our Facebook page or register here

Hong kong project

From 2023-24 we received funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to run events helping local Hong Kong families integrate into Broxtowe Communities.

We used this funding to support a wide range of different events including:

  • English language classes

  • community meals

  • training and advice sessions

  • Mental Health Week

  • health and well-being events

  • activity and fitness classes

  • a range of fusion celebration events at Christmas, Easter and Lunar New Year open to the whole community!
